Dr. Chris Asks...
Stellenbosch Chiropractor | Your First Visit

You'll be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Our clients often remark how beautiful the garden setting is when entering our office. You'll find plenty of convenient parking and a welcoming atmosphere. You'll be greeted by name when you enter our office and given a short tour to get you acquainted with our office. If you've already completed your First Visit paperwork, great! If not, after doing so, you'll meet Dr. Chris Muller for your consultation and assessment. Plan for 30 minutes for your First Visit if you bring your paperwork completed with you. You may download our forms right here from this site! If you need to fill in your health history paperwork in our office, allow yourself an additional 10 minutes, so come early! Your health is important to us! We want to take the time we need during your First Visit.
The Consultation
The purpose of our initial consultation is we can get to know each other and determine if we can help.We Listen
During a brief conversation and review of your health history, we try to determine if you're a good candidate for chiropractic care. We'll ask a few questions and do a lot of listening.

A Partnership
The consultation also gives you an opportunity to tour our office, interview Chris and learn a bit more about chiropractic. Since ours is a partnership approach to better health, it's important that you're comfortable with the personalities, procedures and policies of our office. The consultation is a great way to find that out.
The Next Step
If we don't think we can help, we'll tell you. If we think we can help, and you agree, we can usually proceed to the next step, which is a thorough chiropractic assessment. Our clients appreciate the fact that we explain everything in advance!
The Chiropractic Assessment
The consultation helps us to determine if you're likely to receive chiropractic care. Our thorough assessment might be very different than some other health practitioners you have visited. Our goal is to determine what areas of your spine and nervous system are involved and related to your health challenges. We achieve this by a bilateral weight scale analysis, a postural assessment, some neurological test, range of motion evaluations, leg length analysis, and motion/static palpation. After we study your health history and correlate our assessment findings, we'll make recommendations designed to help you get and keep your health. We seek to answer all of your questions and concerns and to provide with health care solutions that work for you!

Progress Assessments
You'll invite a relapse of your original problem if you discontinue your care once you feel better. Periodically throughout your care, we perform Progress Assessments to measure your changes. A similar assessment to the one you have on your First Visit helps us to chart progress. This is a time for you to share the changes in your health and the different lifestyle choices you have been making to help you get better results. On the visit of the Progress Assessment, Dr. Muller will go over the results with you and make further recommendations for your care. With the momentum established from the intensive schedule during the early part of your care, we can often reduce your visit frequency without sacrificing continued progress.
The Danger
About this time, many people start to feel significantly better. They're often tempted to discontinue their care. And of course, how long you benefit from chiropractic is always up to you. Please not that you are more likely to experience a symptomatic relapse if you discontinue care before we have stabilized your spine and nervous system. This is part of the retraining process to create a stronger, more adaptable body! This strengthening is in the second stage of care, after symptoms disappear. Just like exercise, the more you do it, the stronger you get! Just let us know so we can support your decision!
Your Regular visits will not be as long as your first visit to SA Chiropractic.
